Our Beef
The Aitchison Land & Cattle Company began as an idea in the Spring of 2020 when there were historic beef price increases in national grocery stores while the Wyoming Rancher was given far less for the animals they brought to the sale barn. We asked ourselves, “Why should Wyoming Ranchers be paid less for a quality product while the national beef processors are demanding record-breaking prices for beef at the grocery stores?” The straight and simple answer to this question was, “There is no reason why Wyoming’s ranchers should have to be competing with cattle being brought over from Mexico, South America and Africa, nor should we be forced to sell our cattle at depressed prices while the large corporations profited exponentially. Wyoming Ranchers help feed our great country.”
Our Idea was that if Wyoming Ranchers were given the same consideration and fair price trade while providing ranch raised and quality beef products directly to consumers, we could reduce overall beef prices and still provide our State’s high-quality beef to consumers while giving higher returns to our Ranchers. It’s simple, deal with Wyoming Ranchers and cut out the greedy corporate packing companies and grocery store chains.
The Aitchison Land & Cattle Company deals solely with Wyoming Ranchers and we only sell Wyoming Ranch Raised Beef. We support and participate in County of Origin Labeling on all of our products so that our customers know exactly where their beef was born, raised and harvested. We purchase the cattle that we process directly from Ranches who have the same care and management practices that we do, (low stress management, no growth implants, antibiotic free, and of course grass fed). This direct purchase practice allows us to pay Ranchers higher prices for their cows and saves them time, as we select and pickup the purchased cattle from the ranch.
We work exclusively with local, family owned USDA inspected processing facilities in the State of Wyoming, where we deliver our cattle for processing every two weeks. Once harvested, the beef is then dry aged for fourteen days before being custom processed, packaged and shipped directly to your front door. By simplifying this “ranch to table” process, we provide the highest quality beef to the consumer while supporting our Wyoming Ranchers at a cost far lower than comparable beef products in quantity at local grocery stores.
